Aalto Media Factory Networks

Media Factory Networks are platforms for collaboration across disciplinary boundaries in Aalto University.

In the beginning of 2010 a network for Aalto University’s researchers, educators, students, and outside stakeholders interested in developing mobile applications was formed. Another network was formed in May 2010 around the themes of visual communications and visual media.

The Researchers’ Forum was initiated already in 2009 to facilitate media researchers’ trans-disciplinary approaches.

New focus areas for further networks or ’special interest groups’ are being further explored.

AALTO UNIVERSITY FACTORIES

Media Factory, Service Factory, and Design Factory are platforms for multi-disciplinary collaboration combining the expertise of the different Aalto University schools in the fields of services, media and product development. The Factories are designed to facilitate new forms of collaboration in an environment where academic teams, researchers and students work together with companies and communities.
