“Ways of Making 3B – “From File to Form – 3D printing for sculptors”

Teaching period: II
Workload: 54 hours / 2 op (evening class 10 weeks x 4 hours + independent working)
Learning outcomes: The student will learn how to create 2D & 3D graphics files suitable for output to 3D printer, laser cutter and CNC machine, as well as experience using these machines.
Content: Students will be introduced to the 3D printing, laser cutting and CNC techniques. Through hands on experience students will understand the problems and constraints of using these technologies. Students will produce sculptural objects using these technologies.
Assesment criteria: Individual and small group discussion and critique. Active participation in classwork. Successful completion of own project.

Prerequisities: Ways of Making 3 A OR proof of necessary skills (discuss with teacher)
Grading: pass – fail
