Department of Film, Television and Scenography organizes a lecture on the dramaturgy of thriller in Media Factory’s auditorium. The lecture is open to everybody,
Professor Kerstin Stutterheim from Germany (Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen ‘Konrad Wolf’) will talk about Roman Polanski’s The Ghost Writer from the point of screenwriting. She will examine the basic dramaturgical concepts and application of traditional analytic drama models and conventions of the genre thriller. Further points include relationship between visual language and dialogue and character motivation and organization.
To discuss the complexity of the movie and the importance of a good screenplay, it would be great if you’d have a chance to watch the film before the lecture. The Ghost Writer was awarded the prizes of the best film, screenplay, director and actor by the European Film Academy in 2010.
