MediaBizLab – Commercializing Media as Services is a new one-year minor studies program. The objective of the program is to teach the essentials about media content commercialization from the points of view of design, technology and business.
The program helps participants become stellar professionals in the novel field of commercializing media as services, with career prospects in various media industries, such as internet services, mobile applications, TV, cinema, music, print, and advertising business. In the spirit of Aalto University, the program brings together designers, engineers, and marketers to grasp the design, technology and business dimensions of commercial media services.
The program’s study modules give insight to cutting-edge academic research and practices of service and business development in the media industry. Student teams create, commercialize and further develop service prototypes with the support and mentoring of industry professionals.
The program is organized in cooperation between the Aalto University Media Factory and Aalto University School of Economics Master’s Degree Program in Marketing. Other participating academic units are the Department of Media (School of Art and Design) and the Department of Media Technology (School of Science and Technology).
