Aalto University is a new university with over a century of experience. Aalto Media Factory is a platform for collaboration and development in media-related research and education within the Aalto University. Researchers, teachers and students from the six Schools (Aalto ENG, Aalto ECON, Aalto CHEM, Aalto SCI, Aalto ELEC, and Aalto TAIK) of the new University are invited to become involved in the factory’s operations, to develop multidisciplinary research and studies around the common theme of media along with various stakeholders from the media industry, the public sector, third sector etc. Media Factory now seeks a
for the period of 1.10.2011-31.7.2012. The work will include the development of the rapid fabrication workshop (3D printers, laser cutter, CNC machine) and the flexible studio (video, animation, media art), including training of the users and the maintenance of the studio and workshop equipment. The salary is determined by the salary system of Finnish universities.
The studio master is expected to work in close collaboration with Aalto University’s students, researchers and possible partner companies. A Masters or other relevant qualification in a suitable field will give the applicant advantage when applying for this post.
