Peter von Bagh lives on in our memories

In memory of long-serving film history Professor Peter von Bagh, The Department of Film, Television and Scenography will be showing one of his most beloved films Helsinki, Forever (74 min, 2008) in the Sampo Hall of Media Centre Lume on Tuesday 30 September starting at 9:00.

The event will be opened by film director and Head of Department Jarmo Lampela, and the film itself will be introduced by producer Jouko Aaltonen.
Helsinki, Forever is an essay film that creatively makes use of old archive materials, photos, artworks, music, and quotes from literature; it is von Bagh’s wise and whole-hearted expression of love for this white city of the North and the films which speak of it.

All friends of Peter von Bagh, and all friends of film, are warmly welcome!

Do you need to make an interview-based video related to your research or study project? Want to get familiar with Media Factory’s AV equipment?

The new, improved Media Factory video school is here! According to feedback from the previous course, we extended the course to the length of one week to have time for more learning. The course focuses on making a short, interview based documentary video, such as the Aalto Snapshots. We will learn to use Media Factory’s own video equipment that you can borrow for your production later on!

In the beginning of the week we learn the basics of shooting video and recording quality audio with hands-on exercises. In the end of the week, we will learn how to edit video and audio with Adobe Premiere. During the course the attendants will produce their own, short interview based video in groups. One idea out of four will be actually produced in each group!
